Thank you for your correspondence regarding the relocation of the I-90 Bridge.
I appreciate knowing your views on this issue.
I am well aware of the possible implications that the move of the I-90 Bridge would have on the Tremont community and surrounding municipalities. The plans for the $860 million reconstruction of the Inner Belt will be the biggest and most visible piece of a decade-long project by the Ohio Department of Transportation. After many years of negotiating, planning and designs, this project could make significant contributions to the economy, infrastructure and development of the Northeast Ohio corridor.
Notwithstanding, even the best laid plans necessitate further review. It is my desire that the residents and businesses can come together on a compromise that serves in the best interests of all involved parties. To ensure concerns are appropriately addressed, I will be meeting with Tremont officials and am calling for an independent study to find a location for the building of the I-90 Inner Belt that will be advantageous for both the residents of Tremont and the City of Cleveland.
Thank you again for writing and please
do not hesitate to contact my office with questions or concerns in the future.
